Jerry Pelfrey Fireworks is now taking applications to assist our managers at our Firework tents located in Paintsville, Ashland and Georgetown. The ideal applicant is outgoing and enjoys helping our customers have a great 4th of July celebration. This position is much more than just sitting behind a checkout counter, you will be teaching customers and showing them about all of our great products. We will provide all the training you need to be successful.
Nobody does fireworks like Jerry Pelfrey Fireworks! We have a large marketing budget with newspaper, TV, radio, and digital marketing and we expect to be extremely busy, especially the days leading up to July 4th.Our Paintsville location opens June 10th and our Georgetown and Ashland locations are scheduled to open between June 15th-20th. Once open, all tents will have 24/7 availability for our customers.
All training will be done in Paintsville but you may be asked to work in Paintsville, Ashland, Georgetown or in the Warehouse. Travel expenses and lodging will be provided if necessary for our remote locations.
This is a great opportunity for teachers on summer break or anybody who is looking to have a fun temporary job that is extremely profitable. Our selling season is short but extremely busy so we ask that you can fully commit yourself from mid June to around July 5th or 6th.
Compensation is an hourly rate with a bonus based on sales. This can be very lucrative depending on how successful you and the locations are. You will be given really cool Jerry Pelfrey Fireworks t-shirts and the opportunity to earn free fireworks.
What we are looking for:
People who are honest, dependable, respectful of other employees and tent locations, and who will always put our customers first. We have a zero drug and alcohol tolerance policy and a drug test (at our expense) is required prior to employment. Any drug or alcohol use at the tents or warehouse will result in immediate termination. We need our employees at their best so that they can focus on selling the best fireworks in the business. A background check is also required but note that an arrest on your background does not automatically disqualify you. You should have a valid driver's license. We are hiring a few people under the age of 18 to help pack and unpack merchandise and work in the warehouse in Paintsville.
